A SIXTH form pupil at St Peter’s School has been awarded for her talent in design and technology.
Martha Dunsmore has been awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship in recognition of her outstanding work in the subject.
The selection process identifies the highest-calibre students in technical subjects.
Martha is studying A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and History and dreams of a career in motorsport engineering.
She said: “I was really excited when I heard the news. The scholarship is a huge opportunity which opens up lots of doors into real world engineering experiences.”
The two-year scholarship is widely respected by academia and industry, and will afford Martha opportunities such as work experience, summer schools, and a mentor.
She investigated the Active Air Management System on the McLaren Elva vehicle for her scholarship application.
Danielle Staniforth, head of design and technology, said: “Martha has solidified her position within the school community as a fantastic ambassador for bright young women in STEM.”
