YOUNG journalists from York have won the UK’s most prestigious school media award.
St Peter’s School sixth formers, Natasha Johnston, Freddy Wharton and Annabel Kelley, have received the ‘Rising Stars Award’ at the Shine Schools Awards 2021, for their magazine, Keystone, which focuses on contemporary culture and creative arts.
Natasha and Freddy are the co-editors, and Annabel is the creative director of Keystone, the school’s main piece of journalism produced by the pupils.
Freddy said: “I’m really pleased with how well Keystone has done.
"I loved the fun and the challenge that creating the magazine presented to us and really enjoyed seeing all of everyone’s hard work coming together so well.”
They received their award in London on behalf of all the magazine’s journalists.
