BUS company Arriva has fitted all of its Yorkshire fleet with an anti-viral filter.

Arriva has installed a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) filter - helping to further increase the cleanliness on board and safety of its passengers and staff.

The filter - placed around the drivers cab and customer saloon areas - works in conjunction with the heater and re circulation heater and air conditioning system on board. In turn, this helps to clean and purify the air. If any coronavirus particles pass through HVAC filters, the virus is eliminated due to a virus killing additive, which is built into the specially designed filter.

Patrick Sibley, area managing director for Arriva, said: “We are delighted this piece of kit is fitted on all of our Yorkshire fleet.

"The anti-virus filter will make travelling on our buses even safer and cleaner which is very important to us as we continue to ensure our passengers and staff are safe. The HVAC filter is currently being rolled out across all Arriva buses across the UK.”

Window blockers - which stop them from being closed fully - are also set to be added to all of Yorkshire's buses.
