SURELY the new Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Philip Allott, has to stand down as he has lost the trust of those he is serving - and the public?
It is most disappointing as I was hoping for better things, but I found his comments tagged to the death of Sarah Everard quite incredulous for someone tasked with the job of making the public feel safe, and particularly women.
Mr Allott seems to be in a time warp with his views and to put the onus on women to be responsible for their own safety, when the vile crime on Sarah was by a serving police officer, is very offensive and totally insensitive on his part.
If he doesn’t do the honourable thing then the North Yorkshire Crime Panel must debate his position.
