Shambles Market will not become a tourist destination just because people at Make it York and First Bus York say so (Plans to make Shambles Market a tourism ‘destination magnet’, October 5).
Tourists themselves will decide whether or not to come to the city just to visit an open air market.
Given the lack of convenient parking within walking distance of the city centre, and the high price of that which is available, I doubt many visitors will be making a journey just to shop at Shambles Market.
