A SKINCARE entrepreneur is creating her own lifestyle brand after interest in her social media posts grew during the pandemic.

Sarah Thomas, co-founder and CEO of Clockface Beauty, started documenting her home life on Instagram during 2020 with workout tips and tricks, recipes and baking.

As interest in her profile grew, the mother-of-two from York developed the Sarah J Thomas Lifestyle brand, offering personal styling services.

And she is now embarking on an entirely new venture.

York Press:

Sarah J Thomas Bakes is a selection of handmade cupcakes, cakes, cookies and postal tray boxes created and produced by Sarah, and available for delivery across the UK, along with celebration cakes for collection.

Sarah's unusual flavour combinations, using high-quality ingredients, include red velvet cookies with white chocolate pieces, lemon cupcakes with white hazelnut buttercream, and the show-stopping 'cookie cookie cookie celebration cake'.

York Press:

It follows the success of the luxury, vegan and all natural skincare brand, Rufforth-based Clockface Beauty, which Sarah co-founded with her mum Karen Horsley.

Clockface began when Sarah was pregnant, and her skin changed dramatically, affecting her confidence. Karen, a specialist and experienced scientist, created what has gone on to become the pair’s Signature Collection Facial Serum.

The range now also includes cleansing balms, moisturising balms, face masks, face and foot scrubs and nourishing oil, and is available online and through Harvey Nichols, Frasers and other UK independent stockists.

Sarah said: “The bakery is very different to my work at Clockface Beauty, so it’s been a very exciting new challenge.

"But I love that at the heart of it all, it’s about making people feel good. Receiving a box of cakes through the door, hand-wrapped for you – there’s something very special about that.”

Sarah will also be offering seasonal products including a Halloween range that will feature a Halloween drip cake and cookie dough lollies, along with Christmas products including Tiffin puddings covered in milk chocolate ganache and Christmas tree brownies.

“I’ve loved adapting the flavours and recipes for the seasons so our customers can pick up something special to enhance their own celebrations.

"It’s a great way of offering variety to our customers, but also really gives me the chance to get creative,” said Sarah.

Interest has led to Sarah writing a monthly column in the Baking Heaven magazine in which she shares recipes tailored to the time of year and season.
