A HOTEL chain is recruiting more staff for its York properties in response to rising demand from business and leisure guests.

Hilton has unveiled plans to take on more than 30 roles in the city and across Leeds as increasingly more people make travel plans.

With vacancies available across Hilton hotels including Hilton York and Hilton Leeds City, Hilton has already welcomed nearly 1,500 new team members in the UK since hospitality was able to reopen to holidaymakers in England on May 17.

There are a variety of careers on offer including positions of food and beverage supervisors and assistants, chefs, conference and events assistants and room attendants.

Hilton York will be hosting a recruitment day on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 to share more details.

This follows similar events held by other hotel groups in the city including Travelodge and The Grand hotel, York, which hosted a recruitment day on Tuesday.

This session will take place from 4pm to 7pm, offering people the opportunity to find out more about the available jobs. For those unable to attend, potential candidates can visit jobs.hilton.com to discover more about careers at Hilton.

Hilton offers opportunities for personal development including apprenticeships, graduate programmes, sabbaticals and flexible working, and is committed to creating a diverse and exceptional workplace culture, supporting team members in achieving both personal and professional goals.

Julie Baker, UK&I vice president operations, Hilton, said: “Whether you’re looking for better flexibility, career progression or want to embrace something completely new, a career at Hilton can offer a real world of opportunity. Our team members sit at the very heart of our business, so we’re focussed on creating the best environment where our team members can truly thrive.”

Hilton is widening its talent pool by working with organisations such as Foxes Academy, Springboard, the Armed Forces, and has recruited more than 150 team members this year from the government-backed Kickstart scheme.
