A YOUNG boy has injured his foot after stepping out into the road and colliding with a small blue car while getting out of a taxi.

The incident happened when the 11-year-old year boy stepped out from behind a stationary taxi that he was exiting in Overdale, Eastfield at around 4pm yesterday (September 27).

A blue car, which was being driven by a woman and contained passengers, struck the boy’s foot causing slight injury.

The driver did stop at the time of the incident, but it was believed that the boy was initially uninjured and his mum told the driver to carry on.

However, the boy began to feel pain in his foot and he attended hospital for a check-up.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for the driver of the blue car to get in touch as soon as possible to assist with the investigation.
