POLICE are urgently searching for a missing man - believed to be near Selby.
North Yorkshire Police has asked the public to report any sightings of Darren Beevers, 38, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Mr Beevers was reported missing by a friend who was concerned for his safety at 10.52pm on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
Following enquiries by South Yorkshire Police, the missing person investigation was transferred to North Yorkshire Police at 1.44am today.
The force received indications that Darren had travelled to Selby by train.
Police searches are currently focused alongside the River Ouse between Barlby and Riccall.
Darren is described as white, 5ft 10in tall with brown hair.
Anyone with information that could help the missing person inquiry - including possible sightings in and around Selby, Barlby and Riccall - should contact North Yorkshire Police without delay.
