A YORK-BAND have announced that they are set to make their debut in an arena show next month - and said its a "dream come true".

Skylights, made up of four friends from the city, will perform at the Team GB Olympic Homecoming show at Leeds First Direct Arena on October 10.

Turnbull Smith, guitarist in the band, said: "When we got the call asking us to play Leeds arena, I nearly dropped the phone. I've seen Josh Warrington fight there, Noel Gallagher play as well as loads of other world class bands.

"It's a dream come true to play at the venue and we'd like to send a big thank you out to Leeds Council and all the people who have supported us over the years. We'll see you all there."

The band will bring hits such as 'Darkness Falls', 'Enemies' and 'YRA' to the show next month.

The majority of the band are huge fans of Leeds United - and have associated themselves with the club and the city - both of which have used their songs for promotional videos.

The band also supported fellow York band Shed Seven at Halifax's Piece Hall earlier this month.
