A vegan restaurant in York will celebrate World Animal Day by hosting a fundraising dinner - in support of the RSPCA's York animal home.
The fully-vegan two-course dinner at Orchid Vegan on George Hudson Street on October 5 will be attended by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of York. It will include the likes of vegan spring rolls or salt and pepper vegan king prawns as starters, with vegan chicken in black bean sauce or 'General Tso's Tofu' as mains. Tickets cost £25 - which includes a donation to the RSPCA. A 'silent auction' will also be held.
The RSPCA's Lizzie Parry said: “This dinner is to celebrate our collective love for animals, whilst raising money to support the vital work we do at the York Animal Home.”
Orchid Vegan owner Jean Zhuang added: "We wanted the RSPCA in York to be our chosen charity to help animals and support animal welfare."
Tickets are available from eventbrite.co.uk/e/166909720467
