A YORK-BASED band, made up of four friends from the city, performed a "dream" sell-out show to fans at Leeds University Stylus.

Skylights rocked the venue on September 11 - with hits such as 'Darkness Falls', 'Enemies' and 'YRA' lighting up the room on the night.

The show sold out over 15 months ago - and Leeds record store 'Crash' labelled it as its "fastest selling gig in a long time."

Guitarist in the band, Turnbull Smith, said: "Playing a university with over 1000 people was always a dream and when it sold out it was an amazing feeling - after a year I really wasn't sure if it was going to happen, but that made it even more sweeter when it did happen.

"The atmosphere was incredible, it was a long time coming but definitely worth the wait."

Turnbull added that the band would like to thank all of their fans for their continued support.

They band associate themselves with football clubs including Leeds United and York City. They are also good friends with professional boxer, Josh Warrington.
