A WOMAN was left in "significant distress" after a man indecently exposed himself in a car park, police said.

Officers have issued an appeal for information in a bid to track down the culprit.

He struck at the Ropery Car Park in Pickering at around 7pm on Thursday, August, 26, but details have only now been released by North Yorkshire Police.

A force spokesperson said: "A woman reported that she was near the Co-op supermarket when an unknown man indecently exposed himself.

"The incident lasted around five minutes and caused the woman a significant amount of distress and alarm.

"Inquiries remain ongoing regarding this incident and we are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident."
