A POLICE boss will be hosting a virtual meeting next week to discuss issues including rural crime and the impact of lockdowns on communities.

Philip Allott, North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, will be holding the public accountability meeting on Tuesday, September 28 at 1.30pm - and is urging people to get involved.

The meeting will also look at how North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service service can support culture, equality, diversity, and inclusion at work.

By broadcasting it live, it is hoped that the police and fire services will become more accessible to the public.

Mr Allott said: “These meetings give people the chance to question leaders from North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

“There are many big issues facing our emergency services and these sessions are a chance for you to ask questions to keep us feeling safe.”
