WHAT is it about this Government that on the one hand it will allow dozens of people in pubs who no doubt after a few beers will break out singing and thousands of people who will be attending the Glastonbury festival, where a large majority of them will no doubt be singing along with the bands, but they will not allow amateur choirs of no more than six to sing together.

Also a lot of the church leaders are still holding back in requesting that their congregations be allowed to sing regardless of the number.

Can you image the scene where only the first six people into their churches can sing, whereas all the rest have to be silent?

Who is going to tell them to shut up, the anti-singing Police? I don’t think so.

It’s as if the Government does not care or is oblivious to the feelings of thousands of people who sing in choirs, religious and otherwise in this country and who have been silenced for a year now.

Singing is one of the best ways of lifting a person's spirit, especially with a group of other people.

It would be interesting to know how many people in the whole of Westminster actually belong to a choir. I believe it would be either nil or single figures.
