NEW footage has emerged as part of an investigation into an arson attack that caused tens of thousands of pounds of damage.

North Yorkshire Police say the blaze last year in Tadcaster caused about £40,000 of damage to machinery.

An investigation was launched at the time of the incident, which happened on Little Catterton Lane, just days before Christmas in the early hours of December 21.

But new CCTV footage has now been released showing an individual in the area who approaches a wagon and appears to talk to the driver.

He stays in the vicinity for a few minutes, then a figure is seen running as two fire engines approach with blue lights flashing.

Officers are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the people in the images as they believe they will have information that will help the investigation.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC825 Johnson.
