YORKSHIRE Water operators have added another feather to their caps after rescuing six ducklings from a chamber at a pumping station.
The ducklings were recovered from the chamber at Castle Mills pumping station in York and reunited with their mother before making their way to the river.
Kate Rhodes, operational field manager at Yorkshire Water, said: “Our operators were met with a very distressed duck while conducting their work at Castle Mills.
“Six ducklings in a chamber at the pumping station is not an every day sight. Thankfully, our team was able to rescue them and reunite them with their mother.”
