FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a restaurant in central York.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called out to Casa Vaqueiros restaurant at 1, Micklegate at about 8.26am today.
A spokesman for the service said crews from York, Acomb and Huntington including the aerial ladder platform attended.
He said: "The fire started due to a hot plate being left on which caused fire damage to oil only but smoke logging throughout the property.
"It also caused some smoke logging to the properties either side. Crews extinguished the fire, isolated the electricity and ventilated the property."
Casa is not currently open to the public.
