SAD news that pop star and model Nick Kamen has died aged 59 took us right back to the mid 1980s.

It was in 1985 that Nick Kamen sauntered into that laundrette, in those Ray-bans and Levi's to the sweet sound of Marvin Gaye, and melted millions of hearts (as well as sold shelf-loads of jeans).

Watching the advert back today, it's as if the past 36 years were a mere spin cycle in one of those industrial machines.
