A DEPARTMENT store in York has today (May 5) relaunched its food hall.

Staff say the new food hall at M&S Vangarde at Monks Cross has been months in  the making with several new features including an in-store bakery, bread and cake department, a new wine shop, a bigger-than-ever cheese range, and a new ‘Fill Your Own’ section.

Store manager Claire Smith said: “I can’t wait for our customers to discover the amazing transformation we’ve made. They’ll find our fresh produce aisles brimming with flavorful fruit and veg and our in-store bakery ready to serve fresh bread and delicious pastries throughout the day. Come and see us soon, you’ll be in for a warm welcome and a big surprise will all the changes we’ve made.”

The brand new in-store bakery will bake bread throughout the day so customers can always buy something fresh out of the oven, and, like all M&S bread, the bread and rolls baked in site will be made with a yeast that is naturally enriched with vitamin D. The in-store wine range will feature an award-winning selection including iconic styles in M&S’s ‘Classics’ range and new varieties to discover from unexpected locations in the ‘Found’ range.

Claire said: “We’ve got thousands of quality and great value Food products, from daily essentials and seasonal, fresh produce, to 100% responsible sourced fish and seafood, RSPCA Assured milk, and 100% British beef, chicken, duck, fresh pork from M&S Select Farmers, and free-range eggs.

"Whether you’re popping in to grab lunch in our new sushi bar or to grab one of our ready-to-go family meals, M&S stalwarts like Percy Pigs, or something a bit special like M&S Cherry Blossom Gin Liqueur, we’re excited to see what proves popular as we welcome customers to our bigger, better offering.”
