A NORTH Yorkshire hospice is encouraging people to lace up their trainers and take part in ‘5K May’ to help raise funds for patient care.
The challenge, which will support Saint Catherine’s Hospice, is aimed at getting people out and about raising funds for charity – while having fun through fitness at the same time.
Participants are asked to complete a distance of 5K, whether that’s running, walking or cycling, donate £5 and nominate five people to do the same.
Susan Stephenson, communications and marketing manager at Saint Catherine’s, said: “This is a brilliantly simple way to support patient care.
“Lots more people have been getting into running and walking during lockdown, so why not put those extra steps to good use. The £5 donations really do add up.”
The challenge, organised by Run for Heroes, can be completed during anytime in May and everyone taking part will unlock a ‘goodie bag’ full of offers.
