A YORK hospice is appealing for more volunteers to come forward and work in its charity shops, following their reopening from lockdown.

St Leonard's Hospice says donations are flowing in to its shops in the York area, but it urgently needs people to help sort through clothes in its shops and donation centre.

A spokeswoman said its shops in Haxby, Acomb and Selby all had immediate volunteer vacancies to fill, giving people the chance to come and work with a great team in a friendly environment.

She said the hospice was also looking for someone with an interest in e-commerce or with experience selling on eBay to spare a few hours or more a week to help with its eBay shop.

"They will be joining a small team of volunteers and will be involved with the whole process of selling, from researching the item to packing the item ready to be shipped to the customer," she said.

"The e-commerce office is located in our Acomb shop where they will be based Monday to Saturday, at a time to suit them."
