SELBY has lost its ranking as the UK's worst Covid hotspot.
Public Health England said today that the Selby district's seven-day rolling rate in the week to April 28 had fallen slightly to 101.5 cases per 100,000 people.
It said Hyndburn in Lancashire had overtaken Selby with a rolling rate of 120.9
Selby's high rate has been caused by an outbreak at a business, Clipper Logistics, which health officials have been trying to tackle.
Meanwhile, York's rate has crept back above the UK and English average again.
PHE said its rate was 23.7, just above the English average of 23.2 and the UK average of 22.9.
