PROSPECTIVE residents are being invited to take a look around a new development for older people in the seaside town of Filey.

Filey Fields Court, an Extra Care scheme from Housing 21 for people aged over 55, recently opened a show home for viewings of what the complex has to offer.

The firm is building the homes on land at Filey Fields Farm, off Scarborough Road.

The scheme will comprise 70 high-quality, one and two-bedroom apartments for social rent and shared ownership, in a community setting.

Claire Charlton, head of extra care at Housing 21, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming prospective residents and their families through the doors to see what this fantastic new development has to offer them."

Designed to cater for residents’ changing needs, Filey Fields Court offers independent living combined with optional tailored on-site care and support 24/7.

Its range of services and facilities includes a café/bistro, hair salon and communal lounge which will also be open to members of the local community.

Due to be completed in late spring, the first residents are expected to move into their new homes in September.
