A RECRUITMENT drive is taking place at Timpsons as shoppers return to the high street.
James Timpson made a social media call for applications, adding that any job hunters with a criminal conviction should not hold off from applying.
Timpson has four branches in the York area as well as one over in Selby.
The director, who once sat on the Chair of the Employers Forum for Reducing Re-offending (EFFRR), is strong believer in offering people a second chance despite their past.
Training is provided by the group - from shoe repairs, key cutting, watch and mobile phone repairs and engraving to dry cleaning and photo IDs.
Describing the highstreet reopening as "good news" on Twitter, Mr Timpson said the ideal candidate needs "an amazing personality".
Good news. Now our shops are all open we are recruiting again, so if you know of anyone with a criminal conviction, who has an amazing personality and is looking for work, please contact @darrenburns60 so we can sort an interview out.
