ABOUT 436,000 people have now been given a Covid jab in York and North Yorkshire - but about 30,000 people in the most vulnerable age group still haven't been vaccinated.
The figures were revealed today at a press briefing by Amanda Bloor, of the North Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Groups.
She said the 30,000 people in cohorts 1-9, involving people aged over 50 or clinically vulnerable, who have not yet had the jab were being 'supported' to come forward.
She said that as well as 436,000 people having had their first jab, 185,000 had also had their second dose.
She said the recent decline in the number of Covid patients in our hospitals had started to slow, and patients were still being seen who required hospitalisation.
And she warned that complacency was 'creeping in' and people must try to avoid this, and continue to obey simple safety rules such as 'hands, face, space and fresh air.'
