FIREFIGHTERS were called in after heavy rain caused flooding.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say they were called out shortly before 4pm yesterday (April 27) to the High Street in Northallerton to flooding inside a shop due to water coming up through drains after a cloud burst.
Crews assisted with drainage and moved some stock. Advice was given to contact drainage service.
Around the same time in Coney Street in York city centre a crew from York attended flooding in a basement of a shop. Crews temporarily cleared drains and gave advice.
Meanwhile at 4.16pm in Monkgate, in York a crew from Acomb attended flooding in a basement which had to be pumped out.
