POLICE have arrested a man in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault in a village near York.
North Yorkshire Police said officers were investigating reports of a serious sexual assault at an address in Askham Bryan last Thursday.
A spokesperson said that a man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident and had been released on bail while inquiries continued.
They added that the alleged victim of the assault was receiving specialist support.
