PEOPLE are being asked by police to check CCTV and dashcam footage, and report any sightings of a 'convoy of stolen caravans'.

North Yorkshire Police say that some time between 3pm on Monday, April 26 and 12pm the following day, thieves entered a caravan storage area in a field north of Selby and five caravans were stolen.

It is believed they were driven across fields in the direction of Cawood, and left the area in an unknown direction. However, one line of enquiry is that they may have subsequently travelled to Sherburn in Elmet and on towards the A1(M).

A police spokesman said: "Anybody who saw a convoy of caravans travelling in the area at the time of the thefts is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101. Please quote reference 12210106875 when passing information."
