The challenges of 2020 and beyond brought about a swift need for Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate to find new and creative ways to reach out to prospective QE families looking to choose their children’s educational home. Acting Principal, Daniel Machin, shares how, as the global and national situation with COVID-19 has changed rapidly, QE has adapted and remains connected to families online through their Virtual Open Days and webinar series.

Whilst nothing can replace meeting someone in person or visiting our impressive 220-acre campus in the North Yorkshire countryside to experience the facilities on offer, what we have done at QE and will continue to do as we move through 2021, is to maintain that important connection from the first virtual click with all our prospective families.

York Press:

Through the use of live presentations from key staff across the Collegiate and short films prepared by our staff and students, presented on our online Virtual Visit Hub, QE has used Virtual Open Days to introduce our approach to education. These showcase how we support our students to achieve their aspirations, through the quality of teaching delivered, extensive extra-curricular opportunities and our strong pastoral care provision.  We understand how important the personal connection is, so as part of our Virtual Open Days, families are offered individual meetings with a range of staff. These provide opportunities to meet members of the school leadership teams, as well as subject, pastoral, learning development and extra-curricular staff, to give each family their own personal introduction to QE.

We would be delighted if you could join us at our next Virtual Open Day on Saturday 8th May. For more details, please visit our website at www.qe.org. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
