FIRE crews were called to the scene of a car fire yesterday - which caused damage to nearby caravans and motor homes.

Both crews from Selby and Tadcaster and several from neighbouring fire and rescue services attended a fire to a car at a caravan storage site in Hensall, Selby.

The fire spread to four caravans and four motor homes causing 100 per cent fire damage to them all.

The cause is believed to be an electrical fault with a solar powered car battery charger.

Crews used multiple hoe reels, main jets, ground monitors, thermal imaging camera and hand tools to tackle the blaze. The incident remains open for a revisit.
