A GUIDE dog was attacked in York.

North Yorkshire Police say they are now appealing for witnesses and information about an attack on a guide dog that occurred in Willow Bank in New Earswick at about 5.30pm on Saturday (April 17).

They say the incident involved a man with a black dog and another man with a guide dog.

A police spokesman said: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"In particular, we are appealing for information about the male with the dog and any witnesses to the incident.

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Joe Danson.
