A YORK portrait artist is to send her latest work to Buckingham Palace in the hope the Queen will like it.
Earlier this year Shany Hagan painted a tribute to fundraiser extraordinaire Captain Sir Tom Moore following his death.
Now she has painted a tribute portrait of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
It is her second royal tribute portrait. She painted Princess Diana for Princes William and Harry, then both still boys.
"I have lots of respect for the Royal Family," she said. "It's least I can do for Her Majesty the Queen, the painting will be going to Buckingham Palace next week.
"My sadness is shared by millions worldwide, the painting is gratitude for his services to the Queen and country."
