NO further fines for breaching Covid laws have been issued in York - but 48 have been issued across North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire Police revealed yesterday that all of the further 48 Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) over the last week were issued for indoor gatherings in Scarborough, Ryedale and Hambleton.
Thirty-nine were issued in Scarborough, seven in Ryedale and two in Hambleton.
However, since further lockdown restrictions were eased on Monday (April 12), police have not had to issue any penalties.
Chief Inspector Charlotte Bloxham said: "The gradual easing of the lockdown is very much welcomed.
"Our policing teams will continue to play their part, alongside our community partners, to keep people safe as we move towards a more normal way of living.
"We’ve got to keep this effort going until the pandemic is under control. We’re heading in the right direction but we’re not there yet."
