The footpath between Lockwood Street and Penleys Grove Street has been closed yet gain (this must happen two or three times a year).

The path is a pinch-point for most of the services - gas/ water / electricity/ telecom - into The Groves. All these run under the narrow footpath.

Perhaps now is the time for City of York Council to begin considering options to make it easier to access these important services and to reduce the consequent disruption to pedestrians.

What about installing a ‘roll up footpath’ or perhaps fixing a zip down the path?

This would reduce the time wasted having to dig the path up on a regular basis.
