YORK'S weekly recorded Covid-19 rate has dropped below 20 - and no new cases have been recorded in the area.
The latest data from Public Health England (PHE) shows that the city's rate has dropped by six to 15.7 cases per 100,000 population. This remains well below the UK national average rate, which stands at 41.4 cases per 100,000 population.
The PHE data shows that no new cases of the virus have been recorded in the City of York Council area as the total for the pandemic remains at 12,219.
In North Yorkshire, the rate has dropped by five to 31.7 cases per 100,000 population. A further 20 cases have been recorded in the North Yorkshire County Council area, taking the total for the pandemic to 29,388.
In the East Riding of Yorkshire the rate has also dropped by five to 42.5 cases per 100,000 population, with a further 21 cases taking the total for the pandemic to 17,869.
Across the UK, a further 2,379 cases take the country's total for the pandemic to 4,364,529.
