CHARRED cans and bottles have been left among the ashes lying on York's riverside after bonfires were lit over Easter.
Three small fires were created over the weekend on the Fulford side of the River Ouse, just downstream of the Millennium Bridge.
Beer tins and bottles were abandoned with the fires yesterday, although by this morning the debris had been removed from two of the three.
There was also very little sign today of any other litter having been left by scores of people who gathered in socially distanced groups yesterday to enjoy the Easter sunshine.
