JUST three more cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the York area - but the rate has increased very slightly.

The latest data from Public Health England (PHE) shows that the three further cases recorded in the City of York Council area take the total for the pandemic to 12,201. The weekly rate in York has increased by 0.5 taking it back above 30 to 30.4 cases per 100,000 population.

In North Yorkshire, the rate has also increased by 0.5 to 44.2 cases per 100,000 population. A further 46 cases have been recorded in the North Yorkshire County Council area, taking the total for the pandemic to 29,279.

In the East Riding of Yorkshire the rate has dropped by four to 58.3 cases per 100,000 population, with a further 31 cases taking the total for the pandemic to 17,798.

Across the UK, a further 4,479 cases take the country's total for the pandemic to 4,350,266.
