ONE of the UK's largest bakery chains is set to open a new shop creating 30 jobs.

Scarborough-based Cooplands will be opening a brand-new concept shop, called Cooplands Eats and Seats, in the heart of Flamingo Land theme park, in May.

The 135-year-old Yorkshire bakery business currently has 176 stores in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, County Durham and Nottinghamshire.

They say the new shop will sell favourites that Cooplands’ customers know and love including freshly made sandwiches, sausage rolls, and sweet treats.

There will be an extended range of hot food, with the shop also selling hot sandwiches, paninis, & toasties, freshly made on site every day.

Cooplands will be supplying other sites in the theme park and leisure centre, all baked and freshly prepared fresh on the theme park’s grounds.

Belinda Youngs, CEO at Cooplands, said: “We are very proud to become a partner of the great Yorkshire brand that Flamingo Land is and are excited for our two Yorkshire businesses to come together. Cooplands is well known for our friendly service, good quality food and good honest value making it the perfect partner for a great family day out at Flamingo Land.”

Gordon Gibb, Flamingo Land’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to be joining Cooplands in this very exciting project. Two fantastic great Yorkshire brands are joining forces to deliver top class fun and food to our fantastically loyal guests who we can`t wait to welcome back on April 12th.”

This latest partnership will see the opening of Cooplands’ 177th shop, securing its position as the second largest bakery chain in the UK.
