I deplore John Lewis’ decision to close our York store. It displays a remarkable lack of foresight on the part of the company bosses.

The York store has great potential in the future if properly developed by management, who had obviously failed to support the store in recent times.

It has a huge hinterland and stands to attract more custom with the opening up of new sports and entertainment venues.

John Lewis tell us we can shop online but why would we do that when what we want is to visit our store and enjoy the experience?

I call on John Lewis to reconsider. Think creatively not destructively - you owe us that at least.
