A TEENAGER has been arrested after a man was threatened with a knife during a fight near a school.

North Yorkshire Police say they are appealing for witnesses and information about an incident involving two men at the back of St Peters School in Clifton in York.

They say the incident happened between 5.45pm and 6.15pm on Wednesday, March 24 and involved two male teenagers having a verbal altercation, during which one of them appeared to be in possession of a knife and threatened the other.

A force spokesman said: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"In particular, we are appealing for information about how the altercation started and who instigated the altercation.

"An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
