DOG walkers are being urged to be vigilant, following unconfirmed reports of an attempted dog snatch in York.
The Friends of Rowntree Park has posted on its Facebook page that it has been reported on some community sites that the attempt happened yesterday in the Bishopthorpe Road/Millennium Bridge area.
The reports had said that a woman had approached dog walkers offering a dog treat, and then tried to lure the dog and grabbed it, but was stopped.
However, the dog was said to have since had to go the vets due to vomiting, and therefore it was useful for all dog walkers to be vigilant, said the Friends.
The Press has approached North Yorkshire Police for comment.
