York RSPCA are putting out a special appeal this week for 15-year-old Molly, who was brought to the Landing Lane animal home by an inspector after being found with a large untreated growth on her back foot.

Molly was immediately operated on and the growth was removed and sent off for biopsy.

Sadly the results were not what everyone was expecting and it has come back as a malignant growth. The chances are very high that it will grow back and possibly spread to other parts of her body.

Staff and vets at the centre say Molly is not suffering from any side effects at the present time so the decision has been made to try and find her the loving home she deserves for the time she has left.

Staff understand this is a big ask but believe there is a family out there who will offer her a sofa to curl up on and shower her with love and TLC.

Staff say it is so very sad to see a cat of Molly's age in a rescue centre when she should be curled up on someone's sofa snoozing her days away.

She is an extremely affectionate cat who enjoys the quiet life. As long as she has a comfy bed, good food and a family to love her she really does not ask for much else.

Centre staff would love to see this gorgeous girl in the loving home she deserves.

She is best suited to being the only cat, although it is possible she may share her home with another older cat who will not bother her. She could live with children aged 10 years and over.

Molly would need to be kept as a house cat.
