A YELLOW warning has been issued by the Met Office for strong winds in York and North Yorkshire later this week.
Forecasters say strong winds accompanied by heavy and blustery showers may bring some disruption.
Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are likely, and some short term loss of power and other services is possible.
The warning for York and North Yorkshire lasts from 9pm on Wednesday until 3pm on Thursday, with gusts of up to 50mph predicted.
