TEMPERATURES are set to plummet to -4C in York tonight as the cold snap continues - but could rise as high as 10C next week.

Forecasters say there will be only occasional snow showers tonight but the frost will cause icy conditions on roads where snow fell earlier.

There may be more snow showers tomorrow morning but they will gradually die out, leaving it cold but mostly dry for most of the rest of the week.

But temperatures are looking set to rise to 5C on Sunday and as high as 9C by Monday in a marked change to the weather.

Meanwhile there's a crash partially blocking the A64.
