A flood alert issued for the Lower River Derwent at Buttercrambe Mill, north of Stamford Bridge, has been upgraded to a flood warning.
"River levels remain high following recent rainfall and snowmelt," the Environment Agency said. "Consequently, there remains a risk of flooding to property.
"River levels remain high around Buttercrambe and are expected to rise slowly through the day. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast."
A flood alert has now also been issued for the Lower Derwent further downstream from Buttercrambe past Stamford Bridge as far as Elvington.
"Flooding of roads and farmland is possible," the Environment Agency said. "Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads, particularly around Buttercrambe, Stamford Bridge and Elvington. Due to recent rain and snow, river levels are expected to remain high through Sunday."
A flood alert has also been issued for the Upper River Derwent near Pickering.
"River levels remain high through the Vale of Pickering due to recent rainfall and melting snow," the Environment Agency said. "Consequently, there is continued risk of flooding of roads and farmland. Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads around Low Marishes."
