Most of us are staying snugly at home this weekend because of the double whammy of the coronavirus pandemic and the weather.
But someone has to keep the roads open in Yorkshire's high places so supplies can get through and in case of emergencies.
Thomas Beresford took these dramatic pictures of a snowplopugh/ gritspreader at work high up in the Yorkshire Dales near Hawes at 8.30am this morning. The sun was still so low it was slanting across the skyline and dazzling off the thick, pristine snow.
