WORLD War One victory medals are among a number of medals and jewellery recovered by police who are appealing for the rightful owners to get in touch.

North Yorkshire Police say officers believe the items could have been stolen during burglaries in North Yorkshire and places further afield including West and South Yorkshire, Humberside, Sussex, Dorset, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, the West Midlands and Staffordshire.

They are urging anyone who has suffered a burglary between August and October 2020 to check the photos and get in touch if they believe any of the items are theirs.

The property includes some distinctive items including World War One medals, one inscribed with the name DVR.P.WRIGHT.R.A., spirit level cufflinks, engraved signet rings and cufflinks, cluster rings, necklaces and gold chains.

Anyone who believes any of the items are theirs should contact David.Pegg@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or call 01904 618691, select option2 and ask for Dave Pegg.
