A CYCLIST suffered serious injuries after he struck standing water and fell to the ground.
Traffic constable David Minto tweeted that the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon in Markington, near Harrogate.
"A cyclist had lost control and fallen to the road surface," he said.
"He struck some standing water in the road that has resulted from the recent poor weather.
"His injuries are serious but not life-threatening/changing."
