FIREFIGHTERS were called to reports that a man had "deliberately used accelerants" to set fire to a manhole cover at a property in York, North Yorkshire fire service said.
A fire crew attended the incident off Nunnery Lane at about 9.25pm last night (Sunday).
They found the fire was confined to the accelerant only and no further damage was caused, the service added.
It said the man was subsequently left in the hands of the police.
